How Does "Tuesday Siesta" Qualify as a Story?
Mourning mother
The protagonist of this story is the
old woman who has recently lost her son. She desperately wants to pay her
respects to her son who died and has being buried in another town. She encounters
some obstacles before reaching his grave. At first, the woman who opens the
door says the priest can’t assist her because he is getting ready to take his
nap, but she persists and the priest finally comes out. Then it is mentioned that
a crowd has gotten together outside, surrounding the house. Although the story does not close with the woman getting to the grave, it depicts her taking her daughter's hand to go to the street with determination, hinting that no matter the obstacles she will honor her deceased son.
